When you must have completed the form, you submit your application to your host organization. Then someone at your host organization with the role of ‘authorized organizational approver’ will get an automated email from Wellcome asking them to review and submit the application.

Note that you will have to leave enough time for the approver to approve the application before the deadline because the approver might ask you to make some corrections in your application


The Host Organisation then submits your application after he or she must have gone through the application. The Host Organisation must submit your application by 17:00 (GMT/BST) on the deadline day as we don’t accept late applications

you have to bear in mind that it takes up to four months to consider your full application and will let you know if you are eligible or not


This is the final stage known as the scientific review. The International Interview Committee (https://wellcome.ac.uk/funding/international-interview-committee) will review your application and take the final decision. Remember, there is no interview and if you are successful, then you must take up the fellowship within one year of the award
